⚠️It is not intended to be and shall not be considered tax advice⚠️

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires Mary Kay Inc. to issue a form called 1099-NEC (Nonemployee Compensations) if you did one of the following:1. Earned $600 or more in commissions, prizes, gifts or awards.2. Purchased $5,000 or more of wholesale Section 1 products during the year.

STAY Organized
for tax time

Tip 1️⃣
NEVER co-mingle funds! Keep business and personal finances in separate accounts.

Tip 2️⃣
Organize product in these 3 categories:
Inventory:
💡End of every year, record the total amount of product on your self.
Opened for Personal Use.
💡 Create a customer profile for YOURSELF on the MYCUSTOMER+ app. Every time you open product for yourself, record it there! (Pay your Buisness account the wholesale cost!)
Opened for Demonstration
💡Create a customer named "Demo" on the MYCUSTOMER+ app. Every time you open product for demonstration purposes, record it there!

Tip 3️⃣
Keep record of all your SALES
Here is an awesome Money Management sheet. (PDF + Digital Version)
💡Manual: If you prefer papers instead of digital , use the Money Management PDF.
💡Digital: If you prefer digital, use the Money Management Google Sheet.
** Plus the last page of this google sheet has a very helpful layout to help record business expenses 💪🏻

Tip 4️⃣
Keep record of all your EXPENSES.
💡Manual: Use an accordion folder organized by month. All receipts for business expenses can go in there along with the Money Management Sheet for that month.
💡Digital : Here is a link to an organized folder system. Download the folder and re-upload it into your own Google Drive.
Download + Upload TWO folders. One as a TEMPLATE copy for future years, and another copy for you to use now.

How much was SOLD + How much was SPENT

ITEM 1️⃣
Year End Inventory Count
💡 Create a customer named "Inventory" on the MYCUSTOMER+ app. Fill out and order as your count. (save your mite, by not making it item color specific. All that matters is the price.)

Total SALES

ITEM 3️⃣
Total EXPENSES
View Tip 4 on 'How to Stay Organized"
When it is time to sum up the total use these forms.
👆🏻Don't forget to check the fees you paid to Propay, Venmo and any money apps.

in my opinion, I recommend this "Tax Organizer Form for your records- then the condensed one for your accountant."

Condensed form to turn into accountant.

ITEM 4️⃣
Mary Kay FORM 1099- NEC
This will arrive in the mail.

ITEM 5️⃣
Income Tax Advisory Statement
This will be available

Income Advisory Statement by Jan. 31.

Mary Kay always said “People who succeed have a goal, a dream, and make their plans and follow them!” So first things first, using a calendar. Either a digital calendar like the Apple Calendar or Google Calendar etc, or a Daily Planner. My favorite planner is one that shows a month at a glance, and an hourly schedule for the day. Here is an example below.

Why Do a Brain Dump?Doing a brain dump will quickly reduce feeling overwhelmed, allow you to be more productive, and keep our priorities in order of faith first, family second, and career third.Your brain can get cluttered, just like your home can. Only instead of being cluttered with old newspapers and socks that will never find their mates, your brain gets cluttered with thoughts.

STEP ONE
The first step to doing a brain dump is to identify WHERE you will write down all of your thoughts and ideas. Here are just a few ideas for WHERE you can do a brain dump:
-Notebook
-Plain piece of paper
-“Notes” app on your phone
-Microsoft Word or Google Docs document
-Printable Brain Dump Template
The important thing is to have a designated area to write down all your thoughts that works for you.STEP TWO
Write down ALL your thoughts… however small or insignificant they may seem.
This is kind of like brainstorming ideas for a group project in school… where there are no bad ideas. Just DUMP out all of your thoughts on paper.

STEP THREE
Organize your thoughts.
After you’ve got all of your thoughts out on paper, they probably look like a jumbled mess, so you may find it helpful to organize everything that you’ve just written down into categories. This is where a Brain Dump Template can come in handy, because it has pre-printed sections to help you organize your thoughts.

Plan your work, work your plan. If you don't plan your success, your'e planning to fail.

Plan your work, work your plan. If you don't plan your success, your planning to failSTEP ONE:
Plan your week on a sunday
To plan your week effectively, create a schedule every Sunday evening for the upcoming week.
STEP TWO:
Set your weekly priorities
Date Night, Quiet Time, Working Out, Kids to School, Work hours Meal Prep Etc.
STEP THREE:
Review your weekly progress
The best way to plan your week effectively is to take time to review your week.  Having a weekly review is an opportunity to reflect on the past week, plan for the week ahead, and ensure your to-do list aligns with your goals.

Every day, as you start work, you know exactly what you’ll work on first. And what comes after that, and what comes after that.
Not a vague sense of a looming to-do list, but an exact knowledge of the few most important things to work on today, in order. It’s doable.
When an interruption comes in, you know quickly whether to act on it immediately, delay it, or dismiss it.
• Six things. Not sixty, not thirty-six. Six things.
• Important things. Not urgent things. Not someone else’s things. Things important to you.
• Each “thing” is a task you can finish today. Break bigger things down into smaller steps that you can do today.
• At the end of the day. Not at the beginning when you’re optimistic. At the end of the day when you can be realistic.
• Do item 1 the first thing in the morning. Don’t check email first. Don’t rehash priorities. Start at 1 and finish it.
• Daily. Every day. Every single day.

Follow up is keep to success! Follow up can feel a little tedious especially if you already feel overwhelmed or behind.
Let's get you massive results with peace of mind with a little organization!

STEP ONE
Label your accordion folder Monday-Sunday + Next Week + Next Month (+Jan-Dec depending on what size folder you have.)
STEP TWO
What ever follow up sheets + notes that are in the "Monday" is all your have to do on Monday. After you follow up with those customers, leads, new faces, etc roll their name forward & contact them again. We so often give up after 1 or 2 contacts that we miss out on customers and end up flying through leads. By implementing this strategy into your business you will see an explosive amount of bookings in your datebook + sales!
